		<description><![CDATA[Thank you for this sad but important report. Most of us cringe at the thought of a big storm such as the derecho on June 30. We all dealt with the destruction, loss of power and all the suffering that came with this storm. But the wildlife is also seriously impacted by these severe weather events. Countless young birds of all types lost their lives during the storm. A nesting colony of yellow crowned night herons near Atlantic City had tremendous losses. Many of the young were rehabbed and returned to their nests, but even more were found dead and dying on the ground beneath their nests. I hope more people realize what these weather events are doing to all of Earth&#039;s creatures and that we take steps to do what we can to help them and help the Earth.]]></description>
