PSE&G, Conserve Wildlife Foundation, Mercer County Park Commission, Mercer County Wildlife Center and Wildlife Center Friends team up with free public programs on Bald Eagles, pollinators, and bats.

Join us on August 8th at the Mercer County Wildlife Center to learn about pollinators like bees, butterflies and moths and how they help keep flowers in bloom and food on your plate.

New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country, but we’re lucky enough to still have wildlife that make their homes on our land and in our skies. CWF has worked to protect New Jersey’s wildest residents for almost 30 years, and we know one of the best ways to protect imperiled wildlife is by harnessing the power of partnerships.

We’re in the second year of an inspiring partnership with PSE&G, Mercer County Park Commission, Mercer County Wildlife Center and Wildlife Center Friends. We’re working together to keep bald eagles thriving in New Jersey.

The program has included interpretive public viewing events in Mercer County Park, guided by eagle biologists and naturalists with informative signage and handouts, as well as dozens of free school programs about bald eagles in classrooms around the county. The program also offers a series of interactive presentations open to the public at the amazing event space at Mercer County Wildlife Center, which kicked off two weeks ago with a program on bald eagles by CWF Executive Director David Wheeler, with a special appearance by top eagle volunteers Kevin and Karin Buynie.

Next up on August 8^th will be the fascinating world of pollinators, with Wheeler joined by pollinator ecologist and photographer Blaine Rothauser. Did you know that butterflies, bumblebees, moths and other creatures help pollinate over 75% of our flowering plants and crops, contributing over $29 billion to the economy each year?

And in October we’ll be presenting “Creatures of the Night: The Bats of New Jersey”. Keep an eye on our event calendar (link) and Facebook page (link) for other chances to join us and keep New Jersey’s wildlife flying high.

Finally, next spring could bring us the daily wonders of a Mercer County Eagle Cam! Ultimately, that will be at the discretion of the nesting bald eagles – but the support of PSE&G and Mercer County Parks has helped us install a nest cam. Fingers crossed!
