Checkered White Butterfly

Help! Help! Machines and people are coming my way; I have to fly to another area for my home. Hello, I am Ava the Checkered White Butterfly or the Pontia Protodice for all of you science geeks out there. I have many interesting facts about me. I am also threatened. Please help me!

I will be telling you some flutterific facts about me. One fact about me is my ecosystem I live around dry weedy areas in New Jersey. Next, my habitat is savannas, old fields and I can sometimes be found along forest edges in the spring. My diet is red clover, iron weed and dogbane. Yummy that food sounds delicious.

Help! Help! I was put on the threatened list in 2001. The main reason I am on the list is because of the climate changes and a lot of pollution. Some challenges I am facing right now is my loss of habitat. Those people should stop building so my family and I don't have to leave to another area. Also, the saddest thing is that I am not recovering.

Can you please help me? I am very important because I give pollen to the flowers so the bees can make honey so if I am not around the bees will starve-.,Other things people can do to save me are to stop using my habitat for building and other places too. Some of my adaptations are the patterns on my wings. This is so I can be less noticeable by predators. Also, the size of my wings makes it easier to fly away.

So, I hope you enjoyed those flutterific facts about me Ava the Pontia Prodotice or the Checkered White Butterfly. There are so many ways you can help me like stop using my habitat for buildings. Also, please don't litter .Yay the machine and people are going away! I am safe.
