Shorebird Migration with CWF Ecologist Stephanie Feigin
Time & Place
6:30 - 8:00 PM
Duke Farms, Hillsborough NJ
Stephanie Feigin, wildlife ecologist for the nonprofit Conserve Wildlife Foundation (CWF), will present on the amazing hemisphere-wide migration of red knots and other at-risk shorebirds. New Jersey's Delaware Bay acts as the centerpiece of this globally renowned journey, as shorebirds descend to its shores each May to feast on horseshoe crab eggs. Unfortunately, red knots and other shorebirds have sharply declined in recent years, and their very survival is at stake. Feigin will discuss the shorebirds' migration, the causes of their decline, the innovative scientific projects being done to help the birds recover, and her own shorebird field studies from Brazil to Cape Cod.
