Join Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey (CWFNJ) for a special event featuring Piping Plovers. Each spring, New Jersey is home to some of the largest concentrations of shorebirds in North America, including Piping Plovers. The threatened plovers nest at places like Edwin R. Forsythe NWR, where there are nearly 40 pairs, and CWFNJ is there to protect them. The birds are endangered in the Great Lakes, which is where the story of "Monty and Rose" in Chicago comes in.

Filmmaker Bob Dolgan will introduce the story before screening the film. Afterward, he'll be joined in conversation by Todd Pover, a Senior Wildlife Biologist for CWFNJ. Todd has been involved in research, monitoring, and management of beach nesting birds for over 25 years in New Jersey and other portions of the flyway. Bob is a birder/filmmaker in Chicago who is also the founder of Turnstone Strategies and author of the This Week in Birding newsletter. This is the first showing of his film on the East Coast!
