In recent years, the black bear has been a symbol of controversy in New Jersey because of strong emotions regarding bear hunting. Yet the fascinating story of the black bear in the Garden State goes far beyond the latest headlines. As the largest land animal in New Jersey, and a global icon both beloved and feared, the bear is both the symbol of our remaining wilderness and a modern-day success story.

Join CWF Executive Director David Wheeler for an exciting talk presented by the Bergen County Audubon Society.

Bats have a reputation as being spooky or even fearsome, but they are actually some of the most beneficial animals to people, and right now, bats need our help!

Join Conserve Wildlife Foundation (CWF) bat biologist Ethan Gilardi in a presentation about these amazing, insect-eating, acrobatic bats in your area, and what you can do to keep them around. Then we’ll use an acoustic detector to help listen for and identify bats as they pass overhead!

This program is brought to you by the Bedminster Township Environmental Commission and open to the public.
