Pine Barrens Treefrog

“Quonk, quonk, quonk” Hi, I am Froggy, the pine barrens treefrog. I’m vibrant green and have wide dark stripes. We treefrogs like to live in pools during part of the year but then those dry up during the hot summer months we live on damp soil or bushes.

We are becoming an endangered species due to people. We are also in trouble because of human destruction of swamps and wetlands. I don’t know why people want to threaten us! We are so colorful; we make unusual noises, and jump high. We also eat insects that bother people. You should be thanking us for that!

I hope you think about helping me and the other threatened and endangered animals here in New Jersey. We might seem worthless but without us the ecosystems would not be balanced. Spread the word. Tell everyone you know to help save our species. With your help I know we can save my environment and make this world a better place for all of us to live. SAVE ME and remember to by green, my favorite color!
