Atlantic Green Sea Turtle
It's such a beautiful day! This is what I call perfect swimming weather. Oh hi, I didn't see you there. My name is Grace. I'm an Atlantic green turtle or green turtle for short. We get out name from the green color on our stomach. Even though I love to swim, it's not always fun and games.
I don't really like to talk about it, but to tell you the truth; humans have caused me to become an endangered species. If you were me, you would know how I feel. It's really scary.
In many parts of the world Atlantic green sea turtles are still hunted for our skins, meat, and shells. My ancestors that once lived in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands are now extinct. This means they no longer exist. Can you imagine?
Here is the good news. You can help us by recycling and raising money for us and other endangered species. We're very friendly animals so I hope you'll help us stick around. I have to go now, but it was really nice to meat you!
