American Burying Beetle

Have you ever heard of the American Burying Beetle? Well, that is what I am. I have orange and red spots all over me. I also have a hard shell coating over my wings that are very protective to me. When I am born, I hatch out of an egg and soon live on my own. Soon after I am on my own, I lay eggs and they soon hatch and go through the same life cycle as me. Then my life is just about over.

If you look hard enough, you can find me in open area like grassland. So now you are probably wondering what I like to eat, well, I like to eat almost anything I can lay my eyes on such as, well, any bug that is smaller than me or anything that can fit into my mouth!

You also may be wondering why I am so rare, well, I am so rare because of the poison they spray on my habitat called pesticides. If you want to help me then please stop building homes on my home and spraying pesticide on my home. Please do these things and little by little, things will get better
