American Burying Beetle

Hi! I'm Bonnie the American Burying Beetle. I have a lot of cool features that will shock you! I am pretty small, only 2 inches, but I have a huge personality. I have little pinchers that help me chew through my food! I have absolutely no time to waste in life because I only have 12 months to live! I have a black shiny surrounding on my back. The way to identify my species is a circular orange spot on my back! You can find me crawling around in the Midwest and Eastern US if you ever want to see me!

One of the reasons why I am endangered is because of habitat loss which reduced my food source and that is terrible. How would you feel if you were on the endangered list? You people are cutting down trees and that causes predators that will eat ANYTHING! Especially now, foxes, rabbits, raccoons, skunks, and crows! You people need to stop and try to save me. Who knows, one cut down tree can cut down one big amount of beetles!

You can help me a lot by not cutting trees. You can try to prevent construction and do not pollute my environment. Last, you can certainly do this: do not squish me if you see me! I know that you might be scared of me at first, but please don't hurt me! I hope to see you in the future! Keep trying to help my environment.
