Bats are some of the most beneficial animals to people, but they aren't always welcome under the same roof with us. Many, many bat colonies are evicted from buildings every year in NJ. Those bats are left homeless until they can find another nearby nook to call home.
Bat houses save the day! By partnering with Scouts, we can provide free bat houses to homeowners when a bat eviction is planned. The bats get a safe place to live and raise their young, and homeowners get to keep their backyard bug-eaters in business.
For this workshop, local Eagle Scout candidate Joe Cermenaro is supplying all the materials to construct 10 bat houses. Builders are needed! This is a great family-fun event for a bat-friendly cause. The finished bat houses will be donated to the Conserve Wildlife Foundation to install at eviction sites. **One bat house will be raffled off among the participants!**
Please register HERE via Duke Farms. Bring your own cordless screw gun if you can.
