The Wildlife Explorer Summer Program at Duke Farms is a fun and exciting learning experience for kids entering 3rd to 6th grade, ages 8-11 to connect with and explore the outdoors.

The program is $300/per week/per child. Activities will run from 9 AM - 3 PM daily, rain or shine (bring rain gear). Duke Farms is located in Hillsborough, Somerset County, New Jersey.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

  • Close-up encounters with wildlife like birds, bats and turtles!
  • Get muddy exploring Duke Farms' ponds and streams
  • Create nature-based art
  • Daily talks with real-life scientists and hands-on projects!
  • And much more!

Join CWF's Executive Director David Wheeler at the Johnson Public Library from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM for a presentation on Wild New Jersey: Nature Adventures in the Garden State. Wild New Jersey describes Wheeler’s whirlwind year-long tour of the most ecologically diverse state for its size in America. Along with the expert guidance of charismatic wildlife biologists and local conservationists, he explores mountains, valleys, beaches, pine barrens, caves, rivers, marshlands, and more—breathtaking landscapes and the state’s Noah’s Ark of fascinating creatures.

Join CWF Biologist Todd Pover at the Cape May City Library as he discusses some of New Jersey's endangered beach nesting birds. Although they share the same beach habitat to nest and raise their chicks, each species has its own unique behaviors and life cycle. Against all odds, these birds struggle to survive on some of the most heavily visited beaches on the East Coast.

This summer, CWF is offering a Sedge Island Ecotour for Girl Scouts. Scouts will spend the day at Sedge Island, Island Beach State Park, immersed in the salt marshes of Barnegat Bay while exploring the ecosystems by kayak, living a conservation lifestyle, and learning first-hand about biological research. Scouts will leave with a better understanding of the personal choices they face in order to make a positive impact upon their environment.

Sedge Island Ecotour activies will include a kayak tour through the marshes, clamming, seining, and of course, learning about the fascinating history of Sedge Island and all of its wildlife inhabitants!

$50 Per Scout!

Kids will experience a day-in-the-life of a wildlife biologist and be up-close with endangered shorebirds such as Piping Plovers and American Oystercatchers! Expert staff biologists will guide children in exciting adventures such as a beach scavenger hunt, wrack line investigating, nest searching, and earn the status of Junior Biologist (badge included)! $50 per child!

The Bayshore Adventure Program is a fun and exciting learning experience for kids entering 3rd to 6th grade, ages 8-11 to connect with and explore their marine environment. Program leaders from Leonardo State Marina and CWF educators will facilitate hands-on activities that foster exploration and discovery!

The Bayshore Adventure Program is $125/per week/per child. The Bayshore Adventure Program will take place at Leonardo State Marina off Route 36 in Leonardo, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

  • Crabbing at the marina
  • Arts & crafts
  • Birdwatching for kids
  • Seining on the beach to discover the fish, crabs and other marine wildlife that call the bay home
  • Friday Fun Day: tug of war, sandcastle building contest, making solar s'mores
